Acknowledgements
There are people on this Earth without whom I'd have never had the support,
kinship, inner strength or exposure to travel the roads I've traveled--or try to become
the person I'm still working on being. There have been people who've lent me
money in times of dire need while I was struggling to finish First Cause. There have
been people who have presented me with kind or encouraging words, even if
briefly or only once, whom I've never forgotten as a result. There have been people
whose belief in my talents and inspiration have helped keep me afloat when I
became frustrated with the troubles of our world and my small life, and there have
been people who've kept me honest or given me support if I've momentarily slipped
off course in my struggles to become more evolved, enlightened and engaged in my
short time on this Earth.
If it were left up to me I'd have pages and pages of 'thank you' sentiments in the
novel once it's published...but I don't think most editors would let me do that, so I'll
try to do my best here...
Please note that none of the following are necessarily in a particular order!
My family, of course:
My parents, and the positive traits I've picked up through them over
the years as well as everything they've done to help get me to this
point. My cousins Jon and Cory, the closest I had to brothers growing
up and the kids with whom I actualized much of my early creativity and
screwiness. My aunts Suzanne and Imo (see below) for the ways in
which I was able to talk to them and the support they offered in many
instances where it was needed. My grandmother (also see below),
recently departed, an uncommon, smart, generous, athletic and
good-hearted human being whose effect on me goes as far as that of
anyone else in my life. And of course the rest of my extended family of
any and all categories, from Long Island to Maryland and points in
between.
p.s. "rest in peace" and eternal gratitude to Lorraine Cecilia
Robinson-West, Marie Eloise Robinson and Imogene Veronica
Robinson, exemplary human beings who will be greatly missed...

true personal magnitude I possessed as a young adult....
The legions upon legions of folks that eventually congealed into the
Central Park "no league" crew, and have made my saturday afternoons
singularly enjoyable--not only from the standpoint of sport--for well
over a decade. Those of us who've been in this group the longest
sometimes have briefly discussed, or alluded to, the uniqueness &
strangeness and extraordinariness, in many respects, of what an
overall experience it was to be part of this group (especially in its
multi-year heyday of the early-late 90's); I would certainly not be the
person I am, and I think many of the following would acknowledge the
same of themselves, had I not been fortunate enough to be part of this
peculiar Manhattan/Central Park experience. Following are the
central, long-standing and some of the more colorful fringe characters
over the years:
Howard, Danny, Jack, Raul, Tank, Diego, Jason, Ken & Dan & Gene
Hom, Angel/"Tito", Damon, Tina, Peggy S., Marcos, Eric "Brownie",
Lee, Kenny B., Paulie, "crazy Marco", Mike K., Peggy D., Bradley, Rudy,
Derek, Mark Y. "Bino", Mark S., Marc, Brian B., Elan, Lissette, Dave G.,
Dave G., Doc, Ori, Jake, Emilio, Phil R., Al (homie had the first
honest-to-goodness curveball most of us had seen in a softball game
back in the day), Earl, Wendell, Chief, Bill, Elliot, "Colombian George",
Jennifer W., Melissa, Don, Donny, Donnie, Mo, Virginia, Danos, Tony,
Nicky ("Numbers"), Jay K., Jay, Juan, Alex, Alex S., Jeff, Danny G., Mo,
Jack C., Tony G., Mike Inzitari, ageless football Ken, Rob, Chris S., Pete,
"Chinese Pete", George D., Tom C. and seemingly countless others...
Last but not least, all the folks whose random outbursts of sincere
encouragement and support helped keep me going--from the people
listed above to the more fleeting or short-lived acquaintances on my
mailing list, and all those in between...
And you too, Brookey :)
I did it!
THANK YOU ALL!
